The pantry will be held in the ACS Cafeteria, and we kindly ask that you enter through the cafeteria doors located at the back of the school building. Important Message to Andover School Parents/Guardians: We would like to inform you that any students who plan to leave with their grandparents following the Grandparents Thanksgiving Luncheon this Thursday, November 21st, must be signed out by their parent or guardian by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20th. It is essential that this process is completed in advance, as we will not permit grandparents to sign students out on the day of the luncheon. The Andover Central School District is joining the #OperationGreenLight for Veterans Initiative, a heartfelt nationwide movement that honors the service and sacrifice of America's Veterans. We have proudly lit up the school tower and front of our building in green (pictured). From November 4 to 11, buildings and homes across the country will shine a green light, symbolizing hope, renewal, and the community's support. This initiative not only acknowledges the challenges Veterans face as they transition to civilian life but also stands as a beacon of encouragement, reminding them that they are not alone. Joining the effort is simple yet impactful: switch your porch light to green, share a photo using #OperationGreenLight, and learn about local Veterans' services. By reaching out to Veterans you know, you can illuminate their path and show that their service is valued, and their community stands beside them. Dear Andover School Families, The Kinship Caregiver Youth Group, a collaborative initiative by Andover CSD SOAR Program and Catholic Charities will meet from 3:00-4:00 PM tomorrow, November 5th, 2024, providing a supportive and engaging environment for children living with grandparents, relatives, or non-relatives. A Catholic Charities representative will guide the children through a series of educational and social-emotional learning workshops, complemented by enjoyable activities. 🎉 Thank You from the Class of 2029! 🎉 On behalf of the Class of 2029, Mrs. Coyle and Mrs. Updyke would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of our Soup and Salad Bar Luncheon. This event was not only a delightful gathering but also an invaluable learning experience for our 8th-grade students. We are incredibly proud of their dedication as they chose to spend their day off serving lunch to their teachers and school administrators during conference day. We would especially like to express our gratitude to our amazing cafeteria ladies, Amy Halbert and Angilea Robinson, for their hard work in prepping and organizing this luncheon. Your efforts played a crucial role in ensuring the event was a success, and we couldn't have done it without you! Talent Show Success! We are thrilled to report on the resounding success of our recent talent show! The evening was filled with incredible performances, and we extend our deepest gratitude to all the talented individuals who took the stage. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students or contributed in any way. Congratulations to our winners: 3rd Place: Bentley Dickerson with "We'll Meet Again." 2nd Place: Zac Johnson & Joe Kephart, joined by Parker Seaman on French Horn. 1st Place: Parker Seaman with "Mussette in D" on Piano. A special shoutout to the 3 E's: Mrs. Erica Jacobs, Mr. Edward Hennessey, and Mr. Elijah Denecke, whose hard work made this event possible. We also appreciate our judges, Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Dougherty, and Mr. Ransom, for their pivotal roles. Dear Parents and Guardians, Please let this serve as a reminder that you should not share personal or financial information over the phone with unsolicited callers. If you receive such a call, hang up immediately. We are sending this reminder because parents and/or guardians of children who have recently taken an SAT or PSAT exam have been receiving scam calls requesting personal information, including a credit card number, to mail the test results. Additional tips about how to protect yourself from SAT test-related scams can be found on the Better Business Bureau website and below: Always be wary of unsolicited callers: If you receive a random call from someone asking for payment, research their organization before sharing any personal information. Double check with your child: If someone claims they're calling because of a service your child requested, hang up and check with your child first. Understand the College Board's practices: The College Board will never ask you for your bank or credit card information over the phone or through email. Don't give your financial information to strangers: Never agree to pay a stranger with any form of payment for a purchase you didn't initiate.
