A big, spooky congratulations to the winner of this year's Andover Chamber of Commerce Scarecrow Contest—Mrs. Cone's First Grade Class! They scared the pants off the competition and will be haunting a pizza party on Halloween! 🎃🍕 A big “boo” to all participants, including the Spanish and elementary classes. Your scarecrows were fang-tastic! Thank you to the Andover Chamber of Commerce for hosting this chilling event! 🕷️

 

Mr. Hennessey, Mrs. Jacobs, and Mr. Denecke will be taking a group of students to Alfred University today to see a production of Macbeth. 🧙‍♂️ The ghostly bus will depart at 9:00 AM and return by 2:00 PM. Lunch will be provided—no eye of newt included! 🍵

 

The Class of 2027 is hosting Billy Martin’s All-Star Circus here at ACS this Thursday, October 30th, at 6:30 PM. 🎪 Be sure to grab your discount tickets from any member of the Class of 2027 before they vanish! Email Mr. or Mrs. Bannerman with any questions.

 

🎃 The Halloween Parade, Costume Contest, and Character Recognitions will commence this Friday, October 31st, from 1:45 PM. Don't ghost us—be there!

 

Attention, potential NHS members! Make sure all your paperwork is in Mrs. Steely's mailbox by November 7th to be considered for membership. Don't let it lurk in the shadows! 📜

 

Seniors, SUNY's Free Application Weeks are still haunting us through November 3rd. Apply to up to five SUNY Schools with no application fee! 💰

The Fitness Center is open to students in grades 9-12 who have study hall during 4th-7th and 9th periods. Get a pass from the PAWS staff in room 109. 🏋️

Seniors, keep an eye on your mailboxes—scholarship season is creeping up, and Mrs. Kephart and Ms. Winters have started slipping opportunities in like candy into a trick-or-treat bag! 🎃🍬

 

Did you know Alfred-Almond has wrestling, swimming, and ski teams you can join? If you don't play basketball, but are looking for a winter sport, see Mr. Bannerman. 🤼‍♂️🏊‍♀️🎿

 

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Soccer team on their win last night over Lyndonville Central in the Section V Class D2 Sectional SemiFinals game.  The team will play again on Halloween, Friday, October 31st, against Avoca-Prattsburgh in the Section V Class D2 Finals game at a time and location to be determined.

Boys Soccer: 3:45-5:30 in Andover. ⚽

 

The Girls Varsity Volleyball team will compete in the First Round of Sectionals at 5:30 PM today against Lyndonville Central in Pavilion. The bus will leave at 3:45. 🏐
