Andover Central School District Propositions and Board Member Elections
Welcome to the Andover Central School District's informational page on key propositions for the 2026-2027 fiscal year and upcoming Board of Education elections. Your participation and understanding are vital to the continued success of our school district.
Proposition 1: General Budget Approval
We are pleased to present the proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year, starting July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027. The budget, totaling no more than $12,500,000, has been carefully crafted by the Board of Education to ensure our district's educational excellence. Approval of this budget will allow us to levy the necessary real property taxes to support our students and staff.
Proposition 2: Bus Purchase
The Board seeks authorization to allocate up to $145,000 from the 2017 Bus Purchase Reserve Fund to acquire a new 65-passenger school bus. This purchase will enhance our transportation program without affecting the tax levy for the upcoming school year.
Proposition 3: Vehicle Purchase
We propose the use of up to $75,000 from the same reserve fund to purchase an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive passenger vehicle, further supporting our transportation needs with no impact on the tax levy.
Proposition 4: Establishment of a New Bus Purchase Reserve Fund
We aim to establish the "2026 Bus Purchase Reserve Fund" to facilitate future purchases of school buses, vehicles, and related equipment, with a maximum funding limit of $1,500,000 plus interest. This fund will remain active for up to ten years or until deemed unnecessary by voters.
Proposition 5: Library Support
The Board proposes increasing support for the Andover Free Library from $25,000 to $60,000. This enhancement will be funded through a tax levy, demonstrating our commitment to enriching community resources.
